Who is responsible?
The Skate Question is an independent editorial publication curated by Athanasios Tsipis, based in Sweden. For privacy questions or requests concerning information you share with this publication, email [email protected].
Hosting and technical data
The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit, your browser requests its pages, images, scripts and styles through Cloudflare. This involves technical connection data, such as IP addresses and request information, needed to deliver and protect the website. Cloudflare handles information in accordance with its privacy policy.
We do not currently run website visitor profiles or publisher-operated web analytics. Site operation and security are supported by our legitimate interests in providing a reliable editorial website, subject to the applicable balancing of interests.
External fonts
The website loads the Space Grotesk typeface from Bunny Fonts. Loading this font requires your browser to connect to Bunny Fonts. Bunny Fonts states that it does not store visitors' personal data or request logs. See the provider's privacy information and FAQ. This statement reflects the provider's published description, not an independent audit by The Skate Question.
Do we use tracking cookies?
The current site does not intentionally set advertising, analytics or personalization cookies, or store visitor choices in localStorage or sessionStorage. Its menus, category previews and homepage carousel function without publisher-operated tracking. Normal browser caching may store website resources on your device; infrastructure-related security mechanisms may also change as the hosting service evolves.
We do not display a non-essential cookie consent banner because no publisher-operated non-essential tracking is currently enabled. If we introduce optional cookies or comparable technologies, we will update this notice and assess whether advance consent is required before activating them.
When you contact us
You can contact us by email or follow our link to an external Linktree question-submission form. Depending on what you choose to share, we may receive your name, email address, message and other details relevant to your enquiry. We use this information to read and respond to enquiries, consider story suggestions and manage editorial conversations. Email correspondence is handled through Microsoft Outlook.
For routine enquiries, our expected legal basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: responding to people who contact us and maintaining appropriate editorial correspondence, subject to a balancing assessment. A different legal basis may apply where a specific agreement or legal obligation requires it. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless necessary.
How long do we keep messages?
Routine enquiries are normally deleted within 12 months after the last substantive correspondence. We may retain information longer when reasonably necessary for an active collaboration, documented permissions or consent, a dispute, or a legal obligation. Information is reviewed when it is no longer needed for its original purpose. This policy applies to information we hold; an external platform may have separate retention practices.
Third-party links and recipients
Cloudflare provides website hosting, Bunny Fonts delivers typography, and Microsoft provides email services. Our website also links to external platforms such as Linktree, Instagram and academic publishers. We do not embed their feeds or tracking scripts in the current website. When you follow a link, the destination's separate privacy policy applies.
The Linktree question form is hosted outside this website. Linktree may handle form submissions under its own policies; if a submission reaches us, we handle the received information as described above. Service providers may process technical or correspondence data in other countries under their applicable terms and safeguards. Contact us if you need more details about how your data is handled.
Access, correction and complaints
Depending on the applicable circumstances and lawful basis, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal data, to object to particular processing, or to request portability. For enquiries or requests, contact [email protected].
Your right to object. Where we rely on legitimate interests to handle your enquiry or story suggestion, you may object to this processing at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will assess your objection and stop the processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is necessary for legal claims.
You may also complain to Sweden's data protection authority, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY). We review this notice when our hosting, submission channels or editorial processes change.
